Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School students excel in Inter-School table tennis competition

The students from Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School (GNFC) showed their prowess in the recently concluded inter-school table tennis competition that was organised under the aegis of Mussoorie School Sports Association (MSSA) at GNFC auditorium. GNFC students were declared runners-up in the overall championship.

The GNFC students were declared winners in Under 12 boy’s category and runners- up in Senior division boys. In Senior division Boys Natanan and Prathamjeet Singh from Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary school were declared runners up. In Junior division Gurdeep and Abhiraj from GNFC were declared runners up.

In Under 12 Boys Suryansh and Jagteshwar from Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary school were declared winners . In under 12 girl’s category Manseirat and Kavina from Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary school were declared Runner-up.

The Vice president of Mussoorie Schools Sports Association and the Dean of Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School ND Sawhney, the chief guest congratulated the winners and distributed the trophies and medals on the occasion. Addressing the students, she said that sports help in all round growth of the students and helps them develop mentally and physically. She said that the Mussoorie Schools Sports association’s objective in organizing such sporting event was to inculcate sense of competitiveness and team spirit among the students and develop their mental and physical skills. She said that the association will continue to promote sports in the schools and urged the students to try in exceling in various events and make a mark at Olympic level.

The secretary of the association Lalit Verma thanked the participants and chief guest on the occasion. Manoj, Lakshman, R. Ansari Varun, Ali, Mijan, Madhu Tamta were the referees on the occasion. The school staff and the administrator Sunil Bakshi were present on the occasion.
