COMMUNITY SERVICES

Community Service or giving back to society is an integral part of the school curriculum. Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School Society is running following projects with its full enthusiasm.

Bal Vidya Mandir

The school is already running an English Medium school, Balvidya Mandir for the children of our workers. The Bal Vidya Mandir affiliated to the Uttarakhand Education Board is a school for the children of our support staff and weaker sections of society. The school was founded by GNFCS Trust in 1992 as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The school is presently running till class VI.   From March 2018 onwards one class will be added each year to Bal Vidya Mandir till it becomes a High School.

A Community Radio Station Radio Khushi 90.4 FM.

It seems like yesterday when a visionary ‘Sardar Jaspal Singh ji’ thought of creating a platform for the Voices of community to voice their opinion .., for the benefit of the community with an aim to create awareness regarding Health & Education, spread social service messages thereby making that little difference in changing the face of the society we live in & uplifting the social conditions of the community around Mussoorie.

We take immense pleasure in announcing that Radio khushi has completed 7 successful years in achieving that dream & not just registers in the minds of the people but, dwells in their heart.

Now , Running 18 hours a day stretching  a span from morning  6a.m to 12p.m. Radio Khushi 90.4 has succeeded  in giving voice to the weaker section of the society.., empowering strength to people by creating awareness on social issues like RTI (Right to Information) RTE (right to Education), Domestic violence, etc.

The concept of charity and service to humanity has been deeply imbibed by our children. The young Radio Jockeys of GNFCS inspired people to participate in “Run for Life Marathon”. Our children also conducted a live show on Cancer Awareness and inspired people to “Donate Blood” and “Save lives”

 Project ‘Jagriti’.

Under this banner the school management had started the project to provide free coaching to children belonging to weaker sections of society by the Guru Nanak School faculty.
